St Johns, US VI
Hi everyone. I almost dont want to ask this but i am giving you all a chance to tell me the TOP TEN things to do on St Johns and also St Thomas. I am most interested in whether any of you have been there and if you have swum open water. Do i need to watch out for weird jelly fish and things like that? I know there is alot of good snorkling so I am sure the water is good for the most part.

We did some kayaking and snorkeling in the mangroves in St. Thomas - it was very cool. Lots of barracuda and even saw I stink ray.
I don't know about St Johns, but around here, jellyfish come in cycles... like 10-12 days after the full moon we get an infestation. Other than that it's fine. The lifeguards (assuming there are any) will be able to tell you if this is the case there. :) Have fun!!!!

I've never been to either so I don't know what to tell ya. I've got similar questions about Coz though. I know jellyfish have been an issue earlier in the year, but not a lot of talk about it right now. So, I'm thinking I'll just get that anti-sting gel and hope for the best.
Anything with sand, sun and warm water is better than here, right??
BTW - was totally rocking leg warmers. It was a soggy mess. My shoes still stink even after washing them. It's gross. Totally gross.
Have not been to St Johns, but to other places in the caribbean. Its the only place I ever want to swim every day. Enjoy yourselves!

My parents loved vacationing there but they are more the "just sit on the beach" type. All I can tell you is have a great time!
Jim and I have been to both. Strongly recommend snorkeling or swimming at Trunk Bay on St.John's. My favorite thing...jewelry shopping at St. Thomas!! You can't beat the prices. Very jealous that you are going. Two of the greatest places that we have ever been to!!! ENJOY!!! You deserve it! :)
